Poetry
I started writing 'poetry' about six years ago and initially
turned out some
absolute mawkish twaddle but I persevered. Outside my close
friends
and family very few people who have read my prose realise
I write poetry
and few people in the poetry world realise I write novels.
For a long time I have
been working on a sequence of poems around my mother's life.
She came to
England from India during the time of Partition in 1947 and
as an Anglo-Indian
found it difficult to adjust. One day I'll finish these poems.
