In Exile

Poetry

I started writing 'poetry' about six years ago and initially turned out some
absolute mawkish twaddle but I persevered. Outside my close friends
and family very few people who have read my prose realise I write poetry
and few people in the poetry world realise I write novels. For a long time I have
been working on a sequence of poems around my mother's life. She came to
England from India during the time of Partition in 1947 and as an Anglo-Indian
found it difficult to adjust. One day I'll finish these poems.

Poems published in Poetry London Magazine
Magma Poetry Magazine
Poetry Review, Coventry Millennium Anthology
Exeter Poetry Prize Anthology
Beyond Bedlam Poetry Anthology

Housman Society, Departures Anthology

In 1997 shortlisted for the Housman Society Competition and Poetry Review's 'Dearmer Prize', in 1999.
